The founder, Joan Lask, first began developing her curriculum for the education of dog training professionals in 1973, when she saw a need for standardization in training dogs, and then began to share her training methods with other aspiring professionals, so that dogs would receive the finest and most compassionate care possible. Through years of training thousands of dogs and their owners, showing competitively in AKC and UKC Conformation shows and AKC Obedience competitions, and presiding over 500 lectures and demonstrations, Joan developed her own successful method of dog education. The desire from others to learn Joan’s proven methodology brought about the founding of Jo-Thor's Dog Trainers' Vocational Academy. |
